Try out this very Nutty (homemade) Granola to kick start your day with a sustainable boost . 💚😋🌱

By Cally Howarth

Ingredients:

1-2 cups of mixed nuts. I used cashews, walnuts, brazils and hazlenuts.

1 cup mixed seeds. I used linseeds(flax), pumpkin, sunflower, chia, hemp.

1/2 cup dried fruit. I used apricots, raisins, cranberries.

1-2 cups of fillers. I used oats, bit of muesli and puffed rice.

Coconut Oil or other oil of your preference

3-4 tsp of cinnamon

1 Tbsp f agave/ maple syrup / honey

Method:

Chop the nuts so that they are smaller but not to a powder as they will lose their crunch.

Put the nuts and filler in a large roasting tin with 2 Tbsp coconut oil (or any other oil), 3-4 tsp cinnamon and 1 Tbsp agave or maple syrup.

Bake at 170c for 15 minutes.

Add the dried fruit and seeds,

give it a good stir and bake for another 10 minutes.

Turn the oven off and leave it in the oven until cool

or ...

... If you can't wait:

Eat it hot -equally delicious, can add Alpro (coconut or other) yoghurt and some fresh and /or frozen fruit.

Warning:

This is a very luxurious granola: use sparingly.

Store in an airtight jar.

It should keep for a couple of weeks (although it has never lasted that long in our house).
